Labor Relations:

The Labor Relations Department is responsible for negotiating all Contract Bargaining Agreements with the 10 Bargaining Units throughout the County. In addition to negotiating Fair Labor Agreements the Department is responsible for conducting grievance hearings and participates in arbitrations filed by the Unions for employee disciplines or complaints. The Labor Relations Director works as a conduit between management and union employees to promote effective, fair and professional relationships.

Risk Management:

The Risk Management Department under the direction of Thomas N. Micozzie is charged with the safety and security of all County employees, the public and buildings. This is accomplished through training, drills and operating policies and procedures. The County Emergency Preparedness Plan responsibility is also handled by this department. The Risk Management Department additionally reviews and ensures the accuracy of all insurance policies as well as centralized claims reporting. This includes identifying risk exposures within County operations and policies and procedures to execute the best practices and mitigate potential losses.
