Responsible for intake and output of all Delaware Co. services, complaints, writs, PFAs etc. - TIME SENSITIVE DOCUMENTS
Under general supervision of Sheriffs Administrative Aide and Civil Process Supervisor
Opens and separates large quantity of mail daily.
Time Stamps incoming documents for service.
Deputizes complaints and writs for out of County services as necessary.
Communicates with other 66 counties to solve problems with services.
Processes new and reinstated civil complaints, writs, PFAs etc.
Collects and enters fees into Bookkeeping System and securing the costs go into the proper accounts.
Generate invoices and receipts.
Enter Delaware Co. Services into Bookkeeping and cross-reference with the original documents.
Returns files to Attorney or Pro se that are incomplete and keeps records.
Requests refunds for over payments.
Prepares Service Cards for Deputies travel expenses; verify amounts submitted so that they do not exceed the maximum allowable expense, resolve inconsistencies.
Receives multiple calls a day for costs of service and proper office procedures for service.
Prepares all Delco services and turns them over to Lt. of the Civil Unit for prompt service.
Utilizes ON BASE to review deputy's Return of Services at request of Attorneys or Pro Se.
Reviews all documents for proper file date.
Prepares registered mail for services going out of state.
Interface with Office of Judicial Support (OJS) and attorneys concerning any issues with discrepancies with the documents.
Performs electronic queries utilizing Bookkeeping System to look up service input.
Assist Docket Clerk with various departmental duties: writ recording, data entry, mail out return of service etc.
Customer service at front counter.
Performs other related duties as required.
High School Graduate
Resident of Delaware County for at least 2 years prior to appointment.
Minimum of 6 months to 1-year clerical experience and /or general office experience.
Legible handwriting & good verbal skills.
Ability to work well with numbers.
Ability to work well with the public.
Basic computer skills.
Normal, good health.
Residence Requirement: The County of Delaware has a residency requirement for employees. Anyone applying for this job must reside in Delaware County or be willing to move to the County within six months of starting employment.
