Judge George A. Pagano was elected in November, 1997 to a ten-year term on the Court of Common Pleas and was retained in 2007 to serve a second ten-year term. During his 14 years in the Civil Section and five years in the Criminal Section, he has presided over more than 500 jury trials.

Judge Pagano grew up in Delaware County and graduated from Springfield High School. He then attended the University of Pennsylvania and received a B.S. in Economics cum laude from the Wharton School. He obtained a J.D. degree from the University of Michigan Law School and a Master of Laws degree in Taxation from Temple University Law School.

Prior to his election to the bench, Judge Pagano practiced law in Delaware County for over twenty years and was an active member of the Delaware County Bar Association, serving as the Editor of the Legal Journal, the Chairman of the Legal Journal Committee and a Board Member for two terms. Judge Pagano was also the Treasurer and a Board Member of the Delaware County Legal Assistance Association.

Judge Pagano served Springfield Township for 14 years. For eight years he was a Commissioner, eventually becoming the President of the Board. Later he served the Township as a Solicitor. Judge Pagano was also a Solicitor for many other municipalities and organizations, including the Delaware County Board of Assessment Appeals, Colwyn Borough, the Garrettford-Drexel Hill Fire Company, and the Volunteer Fireman's Relief Association of Upper Darby Township. He is an honorary member of the Garrettford-Drexel Hill Fire Company.

During his tenure on the bench, Judge Pagano has received a Certificate in General Jurisdiction Trial Skills and a Certificate in Dispute Resolution from the National Judicial College. He has been an active member of the Guy G. deFuria American Inn of Court, which is dedicated to the improvement of trial court litigation skills. He served as President of the Inn of Court in 2001-2002, and is currently the judicial representative of the Inn's Board of Directors. In 2010, the Inn of Court presented him with the Guy G. deFuria Award. In 2013 Judge Pagano was elected as an officer of the Pennsylvania Conference of State Trial Judges, and he currently serves as President-Elect.

Judge Pagano resides in Middletown with his wife, Mary Emily, and their two children.
