2025 NATIONAL WOMEN'S HISTORY MONTH AWARDS

"Moving Forward Together! Women Educating & Inspiring Generations"

The theme for 2025 is " Moving Forward Together! Women Educating & Inspiring Generations ". This theme recognizes "women, past, present, and future, throughout the country who understand that, for a positive future, we need to eliminate bias and discrimination entirely from our lives and institutions.

The Delaware County Women's Commission recognizes the powerful impact women have in shaping the future of our nation. As key members of families, civic and community groups, businesses, and legislative bodies, women are at the forefront of challenging the status quo. With a focus on "Moving Forward Together! Women Educating & Inspiring Generations," they are addressing harmful social policies and behaviors that influence our collective future. Across communities, women are driving innovative programs and initiatives within corporations, the military, federal agencies, and educational organizations, paving the way for justice, empowerment, and opportunities for generations to come.

The Commission will honor three women, representing: Hall of Fame (Past) - Honors the memory of a deceased woman leader Woman of Achievement (Present) - Honors a current Visionary Leader from our community Woman of Achievement (Future) - Honors a young woman who is making a difference today, all within the context of our theme.

Recipients must be a woman whose leadership contributions helped shape the history of Delaware County. The honoree recipient must have lived in Delaware County.

The Women's History Month Celebration will take place on March 29, 2025. If your nominee is chosen, you will be notified. All nominees and those who nominated them will be provided information concerning the event.

If your nominee is selected, you will be asked to present the award at the DCWC Annual Awards Luncheon.
