ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Performs cleaning, maintenance, repair, and inspection of pressure boiler and related plumbing equipment. A boiler operator monitors and maintains required boiler pressure whenever boilers are in operation.

Makes routine inspections continually of boilers, pipelines, and other operating equipment throughout a boiler room to detect steam, water, air, and fuel leaks or defective parts of the operation.

Maintains steam pressure required to operate equipment and facilities.

Makes other routine repairs throughout County Buildings.

Inspects, installs, and repairs pipes for plumbing, steam, gas equipment, and fixtures to maintain the heating, air conditioning, water drainage, and other systems within the County in good working condition in accordance with State & Local plumbing codes and ordinances.

Performs other duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND EDUCATION

High School graduate or equivalent

3-5 years previous experience in respective trade and/or certification if applicable. All positions are required to be on 24-hour call-in for emergency situations

Residence Requirement: The County of Delaware has a residency requirement for employees. Anyone applying for this job must reside in Delaware County or be willing to move to the County within six months of starting employment.
