Under supervision of the Director of Work and Shift Supervision:
OPERATES ASSIGNED FIRE / MEDICAL DISPATCH CONSOLE TO RECEIVE 911 EMERGENCY CALL DATA FROM VARIOUS CALL TAKERS AND POLICE DISPATCHERS.
UTILIZES APPROPRIATE AVAILABLE FIRE AND / OR MEDICAL UNIT PERSONNEL / EQUIPMENT.
MUST MAINTAIN AWARENESS OF ALL UNITS OUT ON EMERGENCIES IN THE EVENT THE DISPATCHER MUST DISPATCH ADDITIONAL UNITS FOR ASSISTANCE, TO COVER, ETC.
MUST BE ABLE TO PRIORITIZE AND MONITOR VARIOUS IN B PROGRESS SITUATIONS AT SAME TIME.
MAY RECEIVE INSTRUCTIONS FROM OFFICER IN CHARGE (OIC) AT SCENE OF EMERGENCY AND RELAYS SAME TO APPROPRIATE OTHERS (i.e. NEED FOR ADDITIONAL EQUIPMENT AND / OR PERSONNEL); ALARM COMPANIES, RAILROADS, ETC.
NOTIFIES POLICE DISPATCHER OF ANY SITUATION THAT WARRANTS POLICE RESPONSE.
