Job Opening: Payroll Specialist

Salary: $55,000.00 Annually / $30.22 Hourly
Coordinate and manage employee reimbursements, assist with special payroll projects, assist County Payroll Manager, County Payroll Coordinator and Deputy Controller in all county payroll processing.
Process employee reimbursements.
Process bi-weekly time sheets submitted from county departments not on SAP.
Process Direct Deposit Inputs and changes.
Process and maintain Quarterly Salaried Employee Vacation Accruals.
Process annual carry over vacation.
Process W-2 re-prints.
File all PAF's processed by Controller's Dept.
Work with Controller's Office Manager/Administrative Assistant with PAF processing.
Handle payroll department phone calls and inquiries.
Process Human Services and other departmental payroll adjustments.
Work with Fair Acres Payroll Department with payroll related activities.
Process Franklin Mint Federal Credit Union deductions.
Process W4 changes.
Process Accrual adjustments.
Process employee union dues deductions and reports.
Assist in special payroll projects.
Perform other duties, tasks and special projects as needed.
Solid understanding of payroll principles.
Strong financial and organizational skills.
Able to meet stringent payroll deadlines which may on occasion require work beyond normal work hours.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Strong commitment to customer service, with a proactive and positive attitude toward assisting others.
Strong TEAM player who can contribute in a professional environment.
Mastery of intermediate skill level in Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word and Excel.
Must be able to prioritize and multitask with little supervision.
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have:
Proficiency with all Microsoft Office Applications.
Ability to learn SAP and Workday Software.
Intermediate Internet skills (for research purposes).
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to sit and talk or hear. Occasionally, the employee will need to stand; walk; reach above shoulder height; bend at the waist or work bent at the waist; and lift or carry items. On rare occasions, the employee will need to climb stairs.
