Delaware County residents who are seeking employment are invited to access free services offered by PA CareerLink ® Delaware County. The services can assist individuals returning to work or making a career change. Services are online and also in-person by appointment. Services can include individual assessment and career guidance, resume writing, online job search, and job training. Job training includes earning credentials and on-the-job training.
PA CareerLink ®Delaware County has provided virtual services for both jobseekers and employers since mid-March when the COVID-19 pandemic first began impacting Delaware County and the surrounding region. Statewide mitigation efforts led to the closure of many businesses, resulting in residents becoming unemployed.
PA CareerLink ® Delaware County, with the assistance of Delaware County Council and the Delaware County Office of Workforce Development was able to utilize federal dollars from National Dislocated Worker Grant Funding to add additional dollars towards its individual training programs. Qualifying residents who are unemployed or underemployed can receive tuition paid in full for any certificate program approved by the Department of Labor and Industry.
“The COVID-19 pandemic had a devastating effect on businesses and created high unemployment rates nationwide and it is vital that we use every resource we have and continue to find additional resources to help our businesses and residents who are struggling,” said Delaware County Council Vice Chair Dr. Monica Taylor. “We encourage all residents to take advantage of this training that will hopefully help pave the path to employment or a new career.”
Customers are strongly encouraged to continue using virtual services. PA CareerLink ® Delaware County is now also accepting appointments for limited on-site services.
