Delaware County Councilwoman Christine Reuther was joined by Delaware County Marine Corps Veterans on Nov. 10 to raise the U.S. Marine Corps flag in honor of the founding of the Marines on November 10, 1775. It will fly from the flagpole in the courtyard of the Government Center and Courthouse complex throughout the week. Military flags are raised at appropriate times during the year in observance of the Army in June, the Coast Guard in August, the Air Force in September and the Navy in October.

From left to right: Deb Ciamacca, who served 20 years in the U.S. Marine Corps and Reserve Corps, Andrew Nelson, who served in the Marine Corps for ten years and with the Reserve Corps for one year, Councilwoman Christine Ruether, and Delaware County Park Police Officer Stephen Spadaro, who served in the U.S. Marine Corps for eight years.

Council commends and thanks all of those who have served or are serving, protecting our country.
