Delaware County Council has coordinated a countywide initiative to give back to our community in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. The County is collecting items to be donated to the Wesley House in Chester, which serves Delaware County residents in need of shelter. They are currently housing 32 children, 20 women, and 1 man. Their greatest needs are toiletries such as shampoo, conditioner, soap, bath sponges, tooth-brushes, tooth-paste, razors, shower curtain liners and kid-friendly toiletries such as tear-free baby wash, children’s toothbrushes, diapers, wipes, etc. Residents and employees are invited to donate at one of 6 County buildings through Jan. 17. Council, with the help from our Emergency Services team, will deliver them to the Wesley House on MLK Day (Jan. 20) Please consider joining the Delaware County MLK Day of Service and donating a few items. Every item counts and we can make an impact!
