Delaware County Council, in partnership with Delaware County Department of Parks and Recreation, and Visit Delco, PA is excited to announce Drive-In Movie Weekend this fall. Residents can enjoy a family-friendly movie in the safety and comfort of their vehicle on October 9, 10 and 11 in Rose Tree Park.
The Fall Movie Schedule:
Friday, October 9 at 7:00p.m. - A League of Their Own
Saturday, October 10 at 3:00p.m. - Trolls
Saturday, October 10 at 7:00p.m. - Silver Linings Playbook
Sunday, October 11 at 3:00p.m - Angry Birds II
Residents are invited to bring their own food and drinks and tune in to an FM radio station in their car as they watch the movie on the big screen located in the middle of the park. Bathrooms will be open for use.
“This is a fun and safe activity for residents of all ages,” said Delaware County Councilwoman Elaine Paul Schaefer. “We’re excited to offer our residents a fun night out while still keeping them safe during the COVID-19 pandemic. It’s a chance for families to enjoy time together and also continue to stay safe.”
There is a $10 fee per car and registration is required in advance. There is a 150 vehicle maximum per night and residents are encouraged to register early before movies sell out. Residents can register and learn more here: www.DelcoMoviesInThePark.com
Movies will be played if there is light rain, however, if it is raining heavily the movie may be canceled.
“Visit Delco, PA strives to create and promote events and attractions for the local Delco community and also visitors to Delaware County,” said Steve Byrne, Executive Director of Visit Delco, PA. “Rose Tree Park is a beautiful open space and a drive-in movie is a great activity during the pandemic. We’re able to keep people socially distanced, it allows families a fun night out and it not going to break the bank.”
