Councilwoman Christine Reuther joined Senator Tim Kearney, State Representative Rep. Jennifer O'Mara and members of the County’s Office of Workforce Development and Delaware County Chamber of Commerce on Jan. 16 during an announcement by the Department of Labor & Industry at Delaware County Community College.

Department of Labor & Industry Deputy Secretary Cippriani announced $100,000 has been awarded to the Delaware County Workforce Development Board (DCWDB.) The DCWDB, in partnership with EDSI - Delaware County, will use the funds to expand the Two-Generation Career Exploration and Education Program to serve adults and high school students residing in Delaware County who are interested in exploring manufacturing or health care careers.

Now in its sixth year, the program’s goal is to provide activities for both students and their parents or guardians to better prepare them to join the workforce in high-priority occupations.

Following the announcement, those in attendance toured Delaware County College’s Advanced Technology and got to see firsthand how students are training for these in-demand jobs.
