Delaware County will be conducting public drive-thru COVID-19 testing at Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital in Darby and the former U.S. Army Reserve site in Upland during the week of March 15. Both sites use standard mid-nasal PCR Nasal Swab test kits.

There are no out-of-pocket costs or co-pays for COVID-19 testing at either site; however, individuals with health insurance are asked to please bring an ID and their insurance card. Masks or face coverings must be worn.


Mercy Fitzgerald (Darby)

Testing is free and is available for insured and uninsured individuals 12 years of age or older who live or work in Delaware County and have COVID-19 symptoms, were exposed to COVID-19, or are considered critical/essential workers.

Individuals must pre-register at www.delcopa.gov/testing to receive a test at Mercy Fitzgerald.

COVID-19 test results typically take between 3-5 days. Faster results can be obtained by registering online through the MyHNLAccess portal. Details about the registration process can be obtained during your test and on the MyHNLAccess page that is linked at www.delcopa.gov/testing.

The Chester County Health Department Disease Investigation team may call those individuals who have a positive test result to complete an investigation.


AMI Expeditionary Healthcare (Upland)

Testing is free and available on a first-come, first-serve basis for individuals 3 years of age or older. Individuals are not required to show symptoms of COVID-19 in order to be tested and do not have to be county residents.

No appointment is necessary, registration will be completed on-site.

The turnaround time for testing results is between 2-7 days. Individuals who test positive will receive a phone call from AMI while individuals who test negative will receive a secured-PDF emailed to them from AMI.

Individuals who suspect they are positive or believe they have been exposed to someone with COVID-19 should self-quarantine while they await test results. Individuals who live with other people should self-quarantine in a private room and use a private bathroom if possible.
