Released: June 2, 2021
Each year, Delaware County’s 28 libraries come together to participate in Journey Across Delco. The program encourages families to visit as many libraries as possible and complete an activity at every stop. This year, there are three different ways to complete the journey- by visiting your local library, by participating in The Inside Tails & Tales Reading Challenge, or by visiting StoryWalk at Rose Tree Park.
This year’s theme is “Tails and Tales” and each library will be featuring an animal to accompany each reading challenge.
Readers who would like to participate can pick up the game sheet and instructions and their local library or download them here: www.delcolibraries.org/journey-across-delco
Fill out the information on the bottom of the sheet and begin the journey by visiting libraries, completing badges in Beanstack, or visiting StoryWalk at Rose Tree Park – or a combination of all three! Once you have completed your game sheet and figured out the mystery saying, return it to any local library to be entered into our Journey Across Delco raffle. The Journey Across Delco game sheets will be accepted at local libraries until August 15. Winners of the raffle will be contacted by e-mail and prizes will be sent to their local libraries for pick-up.
“We are pleased to offer Journey Across Delco again this year,” says Delaware County Libraries Director Catherine Bittle. “By offering three ways to complete the Journey, we hope that many more families will be able to participate.”
As part of our summer programming, Delaware County Libraries will also be hosting book giveaways at Rose Tree Park on Fridays in June and July! Stop by to read the StoryWalk selection and leave with a copy of the book! Space is limited, reserve your spot here: https://delcolibraries.libcal.com/appointments/StoryWalk/DCL
