Delaware County participates in National Faith & Blue Program

Delaware County Sheriff Jerry Sanders is spearheading an initiative to include Delaware County law enforcement, faith-based organizations, and the community in the National Faith & Blue event, which takes place Oct. 8-11 this year.

Faith & Blue was launched to facilitate safer, stronger, more just and more unified communities by directly enabling local partnerships among law enforcement professionals, residents, businesses, and community groups through the connections of local faith-based organizations. The initiative aims to re-calibrate police-community relations through solutions-focused, in-person, socially distanced and/or virtual activities that are organized jointly by faith-based or other community groups and law enforcement agencies.

Delaware County will kick off the weekend with a Peace, Justice, & Unity March on Friday, October 8 at 1:00 p.m. Law enforcement, faith-based organizations, and the community are invited to gather at Second Baptist Church (400. E State St., Media, PA) at 1:00 p.m. and march down State Street to the Delaware County Courthouse, where more information about Faith & Blue will be shared.

Speakers at the press conference will represent law enforcement and faith-based organizations and include:

Sherriff Jerry Sanders
Media Police Chief Marty Wusinich
Rev. Mays from Second Baptist Church
District Attorney Jack Stollsteimer
Bishop Febus AM Hunter, Law Enforcement Chaplains of Delaware County
