Home / Departments / Public Relations Releases / The PA Unemployment Compensation (UC) system will shut down May 30-June 10

Released: May 21, 2021

The PA Unemployment Compensation (UC) system will shut down May 30-June 10 to convert to a new system and residents should be prepared so payments aren’t disrupted.

During the system shutdown:

Unemployment Compensation Service Centers will be open throughout the transition period. Phone lines will not be shut off.

Continued claims will be paid during the transition. The switchover will only effect people who are filing new claims.

All claimants will be able to file for benefits the week of May 30th until Wednesday (June 2nd 10pm).

Claimants who would normally file on the week of June 6th, will file the week of May 30th. They will receive one week of benefits not two.

Once the new system goes live on June 8th, all claimants will be able to file weekly.

New PAT (PA Teleclaims) will be available June 10th (Thursday). However, it is best to file online if possible.

New UC applications will stop being accepted on May 30th at 10pm. Claimants can still call and notify UC. Starting June 8th, UC will call them back and file new claims in the new system for them and automatically backdate.
