Are you age 60 or over and afraid of falling?
Join COSA for A Matter of Balance to Learn to Prevent Falls

A Matter of Balance is an evidence-based program proven to reduce the risk of falls among older adults. The Delaware County Office of Services for the Aging (COSA) in collaboration with the PA Department of Aging is offering the A Matter of Balance Program at Chester Senior Center FREE to PA residents age 60 and older.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention findings indicate that every 20 minutes an older adult in the U.S. dies from a fall and that falls are the most common cause of traumatic brain injury. Many people do not know that fear of falling can become a self-fulfilling prophecy, putting us at an increased risk for falls. The good news is that participants can face their fears and learn what they can do to increase their physical strength, flexibility and balance and decrease their risk of falling by attending A Matter of Balance.

This 8-session virtual evidence-based program proven to help reduce the risk of falls among older adults will be held at Chester Senior Center, 721 Hayes Street, Chester PA on Wednesdays from July 30th through September 17th from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Program participants say: “Class was great. Instructors made it enjoyable and informative.”
“You made us think about ways to help ourselves stay safe, healthy, and balanced.”

Registration for this program is required. Contact Chester Senior Center at 610-497-3550 or Vivica Holmes at vholmes@scsdelco.org. Please provide your name, address, and phone number.
