Delaware County will hold a presentation on the FY2022 Budget at 2:00 p.m. on Dec. 7 in the County Council Public Meeting Room, located on the first floor of the Government Center (201 W. Front St., Media, PA.)
The purpose of the session is to provide a forum for public review of the proposed budget and to receive feedback and adjustments to the financial plan prior to Council’s action to adopt the budget for FY2022 on Dec. 15.
The presentation is open to the public and will be streamed live: https://delcopa.gov/departments/budgetmanagement.html
The draft proposed 2022 operating budget meets Council’s direction of no increase in total expenditures, providing a decrease of $3.5 million; planned capital expenditures are decreased by $3.35 million; and property tax rates remain unchanged at 2.99 mills. The proposed budget supports Council’s goals of greater transparency and accountability.
The Budget Presentation will include:
Volume 1, Community Guide to the Budget, presents the financial plan “by-the-numbers” and demonstrates how resources are used to support the community’s values and goals.
Volume 2, Capital Budget, details the five-year capital improvement plan and includes descriptions of projects and initiatives.
Volume 3, Data, provides the detailed back-up for departmental budgets and facilitates loading of the budget into the financial system.
The presentation will also detail the start-up and operation of the County Health Department, the de-privatization of the George W. Hill Correctional Facility, the evaluation of Community Justice & Rehabilitation initiatives, the creation of a Sustainability Unit, increased support of Parks and Open Space, and improved coordination of Community Support Services.
The video presentation and the proposed budget will be posted on the County’s website following the live session: https://delcopa.gov/departments/budgetmanagement.html
