Monday, May 3 is the deadline for Delaware County voters to register for the first time or update their registration in order to vote in the 2021 Municipal Primary Election. Eligible voters who are new to Delaware County or turn 18 on or before Election Day (May 18) must register by May 3 in order to cast a ballot in the upcoming election. May 3 is also the deadline for voters who need to file name or address changes, who have not voted in five years or more, or who want to change party affiliations.

In order to register to vote in Delaware County, you must be a U.S. citizen, at least 18 years old by Election Day, and a resident of the precinct at least 30 days before Election Day.

Voters may register:

In person at the Voter Registration office in Media at the Delaware County Government Center. If possible, voters who register in person should present a PA driver’s license, state ID or the last 4 digits of the Social Security number. The registration office is open weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

All Delaware County registered voters, regardless of party affiliation are eligible to participate in the May 18 Primary Election. Voters registered with the Democratic Party or Republican Party will qualify for that party’s ballot and referenda questions. Voters not registered with a party will receive a ballot with referenda questions only, including three proposed amendments to the Pennsylvania Constitution. All ballots will include the referenda questions on disaster declarations, equal rights, and the ability of volunteer fire and ambulance services to borrow funds.
