REGISTERING TO VOTE

Registering is the first step to voting. You may check your registration status, update your registration, or register for the first time using the resources found below.

Voters that have moved, changed their name, or wish to change their political party affiliation must complete a new voter registration form.

In Pennsylvania, residents must register or update their registration by Monday, October 21, 2024, for the 2024 General Election. The registration process can be done online, by mail, or in-person at the County Government Center in Media.

Below is updated data on Delaware County’s registered voters, reflecting all new and updated registrations made through the October 21, 2024, deadline for the November 5, 2024, General Election. By publishing this data, the Voter Registration Department aims to promote transparency and provide public access to current voter registration numbers.

Registered Voters by Party Affiliation in Delaware County:

  • 209,102 Registered Democratic (49.30%)
  • 151,033 Registered Republican (35.60%)
  • 64,094 Registered Other (15.11%)

Who May Register to Vote?

To register or update a registration, you must be:

A U.S. citizen

At least 18 years of age by Election Day

A resident at your current address at least 30 days before the next election

Incarcerated, Imprisoned, or Paroled persons:

May register if they are pretrial detainees not currently serving a sentence for a felony conviction

May not register if currently serving a sentence for a felony conviction



Should I Re-Register?

Complete a new voter registration application if:

You have moved

You have changed your name

You have changed your political party preference

The process to re-register is the same as the process to register to vote for the first time. You can re-register online or re-register by mail.



Can I Cancel My Voter Registration?

Yes. Please fill out this Voter Request to Cancel Registration form and return to a Delaware County Voter Service Center, or visit the Pennsylvania Department of State’s How to Update Your Registration web page, if you wish to cancel your registration. We urge voters who are moving out of the County or the State of Pennsylvania to inform the Delaware County Bureau of Elections that you will no longer be a resident of Delaware County to help ensure accurate records.
