About Us

The Delaware County Office of Sustainability (DCOS) was created in 2021 with a mission of making Delaware County and its operations more sustainable and resilient to the effects of climate change. To facilitate this mission, DCOS is charged with examining government operations, engaging with the community, and working with the Sustainability Commission to implement the County’s first Sustainability and Climate Action Plan, "Sustain Delco: A Sustainability Plan for Delaware County."

Delaware County strives to infuse sustainability into all government operations and the community. Together with DCOS, the Executive Director and Council are focused on economic sustainability, education, governance, and diversity, equity and justice as the guiding principals for the County's sustainability work.
