Bail is the amount of money defendants must post to be released from custody until their trial. Bail is not a fine. It is not supposed to be used as punishment. The purpose of bail is simply to ensure that defendants will appear for trial and all pretrial hearings for which they must be present.
In order to make bail please read the information below carefully.
Bail payment can be accepted at George W Hill Correctional Facility (GWHCF) between the hours of 8:00 PM- 8:00 AM, provided that there aren’t any outstanding issues.
To increase efficiency- If you intend on physically posting bail at GWHCF after hours, please reach out to the Director of Records (Michael Root email@example.com or at 610-361-3200 EXT 316 between the hours of 8:00 AM- 5:00 PM.
Communicate your intentions on posting bail and your scheduled time of arrival. Please provide the name and DOB of the incarcerated person. The Records Department will check for any outstanding issues and let you know the next steps to follow.
You will need to bring cash and have a form of ID.

Please also reach out to the Director of Records (Michael Root firstname.lastname@example.org ) and supply the confirmation number associated with the payment so that processing can begin
The Incarcerated Person (I/P) can be picked up at the facility front parking lot located on Cheyney Rd.
For bus transportation:
Pick-up is directly in front of the facility at 1:25 PM and at 2:40 PM for 1:00 PM Discharge.
Pick-up is directly in front of the facility at 9:05 PM and 10:20 PM for 9:00 PM Discharge.
George W Hill Correctional Facility provides its Incarcerated Person with bus fare which includes one-way trip with a transfer in their Septa Transportation Pass Septa.
